KGAL Investment Management’s Endor project in Vordingborg, Denmark, has signed a long-term offtake agreement for sustainable synthetic aviation fuel (eSAF) with Uniper.
Uniper will purchase 40,000 tonnes of eSAF annually for more than 10 years, which is half of the planned annual production. This contract is one of the largest eSAF supply agreements announced to date in Europe. The KGAL ESPF 6 Energy Transition Fund holds a stake in the Endor project.
The Endor project was developed by Arcadia eFuels. It is set to produce up to 80,000 tonnes of eSAF annually. The feedstocks used are renewable electricity, locally produced green hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide. Compared with conventional kerosene, the fuel can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 98 percent throughout its entire lifecycle. The eSAF is designed to meet the requirements of the European Union’s ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation as well as the criteria for renewable fuels of non-biogenic origin.
