KGAL invests €1.3b on behalf of KGAL ESPF 4, plans additional close for successor fund

KGAL has completed the investment phase for its KGAL ESPF 4 green energy fund, with a total of €1.3 billion ($1.4 billion) invested.

The core-plus KGAL ESPF 4 has a diversified portfolio consisting of onshore and offshore wind farms in Germany, Poland and Sweden, as well as solar plants in Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain. With a combined capacity of 2.2 gigawatts, the portfolio is distributed across a total of 33 European wind and solar parks, and also is invested in a project developer. An additional 500 megawatts of solar parks are still under construction.

KGAL ESPF 4 typically gets involved at the beginning of the lifecycle in order to participate in a large part of the value creation. With most of the investments in the portfolio having completed the project or construction phase, the fund is performing strongly, according to KGAL.
