KGAL ESPF 6 Fund and PtX Development expand Lubmin, Germany, hydrogen platform with majority stake in Lhyfe’s project

KGAL ESPF 6 Fund and PtX Development are further strengthening their joint green hydrogen platform in Lubmin, Germany. Through the acquisition of a majority stake in Lhyfe’s green hydrogen project, the partners are expanding the Lubmin platform to a potential hydrogen production capacity of up to 1,700 megawatts. At full capacity, the total Lubmin project could achieve an annual hydrogen output of up to 160,000 tonnes, making it potentially the largest hydrogen project in Germany.

The Lubmin site offers secured land, confirmed grid access and a strategically outstanding location adjacent to GASCADE’s “Flow” pipeline — an existing, repurposed hydrogen pipeline that already connects Lubmin with Saxony-Anhalt and forms a core element of Germany’s hydrogen backbone network.
