KGAL’s renewable-energy fund, KGAL ESPF 5, has acquired a 40 percent stake in the project development of five wind turbines in Bierbergen, Lower Saxony, Germany, from developer GP JOULE.
With a total capacity of 28 megawatts, the Bierbergen wind farm is currently under construction and has 20 years of feed-in tariffs. The five wind turbines from the manufacturer Vestas are expected to be completed by first quarter 2026.
“We were able to finalize the transaction with signing and closing within a few weeks, and thus secure an exceptionally attractive opportunity for investors to further diversify the portfolio,” said Carsten Haubner, portfolio manager at KGAL.
KGAL ESPF 5 is a core-plus Article 9 Impact Fund under Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). The fund was launched in 2021 and invests in the energy-transition growth market starting from the development phase, and is diversified across technologies, sectors, countries and lifecycles.
