KGAL acquires two wind farms in Germany for individual mandate

by Kali Persall

KGAL Investment Management has acquired two additional wind farms in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate for the Software AG Foundation (SAGST) individual mandate.

With a total capacity of 23.8 megawatts, the wind turbines will be constructed by the seller BayWa r.e. and are scheduled to be commissioned in 2025.

The first wind farm, located near the village of Prüm in the Eifel region, consists of two Nordex turbines with a total capacity of 11.4 megawatts, and the Altenglan wind farm in the Western Palatinate includes two Vestas wind turbines with a total output of 12.4 megawatts. Both wind farms are expected to deliver around 80,700 megawatt-hours of green electricity annually and have secured fixed, predictable cash flows through the 20-year feed-in tariff under the German Renewable Energy Sources Act.

The acquisition of the two wind farms builds on an earlier investment
