Kendall Sustainable Infrastructure (KSI), a U.S. independent power producer, has commenced operations of three new community solar projects totaling 15.8 megawatts dc.
The portfolio includes two projects in New York and one project in Oregon, with individual project sizes ranging from 4.1 megawatts dc to 7 megawatts dc.
The three projects each were developed by different independent developers. Through a variety of collaborative arrangements, KSI contributed expertise and capital, taking full control at or near the start of construction. KSI then financed the build-out and now operates the projects. KSI co-founder John Chaimanis confirmed all three new projects came online quickly and are providing critically needed power to the electric grid, saving energy for offtakers.
KSI now has completed construction on 83 solar projects totaling 145 megawatts dc, with an additional 71 megawatts dc under active construction across eight states.
