KCERA invests $50m in Quantum Energy Partners IX

by Elise Mackanych

Kern County (Calif.) Employees Retirement Association (KCERA) has committed $50 million to Quantum Energy Partners IX.

Quantum Energy Partners IX is a closed-end, core strategy targeting energy infrastructure, including upstream oil and gas and energy transition/decarbonization assets in North America. The fund aims to raise $4.5 billion in equity. The Teacher Retirement System of Texas committed $250 million to this fund in early 2026.

Its predecessor, Quantum Energy Partners VIII, surpassed its goal of $4.6 billion with $5.6 billion in total equity upon closure.

KCERA, a public pension fund, had $7 billion in total assets under management, as of Aug. 31.
