Italy’s University of Milan is launching tenders in an effort to attract private developers to participate in the design, construction and management of a €826 million ($921 million) campus, according to InfraPPP.
The campus will span 2,500 square meters (269,097 square feet) and is set to be located in the Milano Innovation District (MIND), a science, knowledge and innovation district on the former 2015 World Expo site in Milan.
It will feature university campus, hospital, an international research center, new housing, student accommodation, business and retail. Construction is slated for completion in the spring of 2025.
The private partner will be responsible for the final and executive design, the execution of the works, the management of the complex, and the maintenance of all the buildings for a total concession period of 31 years.
The deadline to submit responses is Dec. 20, with applications to be considered on Jan. 9, 2020.
