Investec Bank has partnered with Privilege Finance to unlock up to £90 million ($124 million) of funding for anaerobic digestion projects in the United Kingdom, according to Bioenergy Insight.
The funding will be offered to existing anaerobic digestion customers to refinance their projects as they reach operations.
Privilege has deployed more than £500 million ($688 million) to build 40 anaerobic digestion facilities, which produce more than 3.5 gigawatts of energy each day. Investec has arranged or advised on more than £1 billion ($1.4 billion) of funding for bioenergy projects over the past five years, including several anaerobic digestion portfolios.
