Infrastructure asset under management growth (AUM) has outpaced most private market peers, according to Campbell Lutyens’ Infrastructure Market Report.
Infrastructure remains a resilient and consistent investment opportunity, especially in times of political and economic uncertainty. In addition, there is an emerging necessity to modernize existing infrastructure assets which is generating publicity, government support and investor interest.
Infrastructure AUM has grown at a faster rate than other private market asset classes, according to the report, with the sector experiencing consistent growth since 2011. Supporting this growth includes the rush to megatrends such as energy security and digitalization.
“Infrastructure is just at the beginning of a golden age. … There’s a need for trillions of dollars investing in infrastructure,” said Larry Fink, chairman and CEO at BlackRock, in the report.
