The Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois is planning to invest $100 million in the Partners Group Infrastructure Secondary fund, the pension fund disclosed recently.
The investment vehicle forms part of a broader infrastructure secondaries program, for which Partners Group raised more than $5.5 billion for earlier this month. The firm’s infrastructure secondaries strategy, which invests in GP-led transactions, LP-led portfolios and complex situations globally, has invested $2 billion globally during the past 12 months. The program is already more than 25 percent committed across 20 seed investments.
The investment with manager Partners Group represents a new relationship for the Illinois pension fund. It will be made on behalf of the system’s $13.4 billion real assets portfolio.
