Illinois SURS places $100m in Pantheon’s latest global infra secondaries fund

by Kali Persall

The Illinois State Universities Retirement System (SURS) has approved a $100 million commitment to the Pantheon Global Infrastructure Core Plus Fund V.

SURS currently has a $57 million investment in the Pantheon Global Infrastructure Fund IV and $519 million in various Pantheon private equity funds.

In January, the fund’s predecessor, Pantheon Global Infrastructure Fund IV, closed at $5.3 billion, representing Pantheon’s largest-ever fundraise. The fund targeted global infrastructure, with a focus on infrastructure secondaries.

Pantheon has been a pioneer in infrastructure secondaries since 2010 and has committed $7 billion through the strategy. The firm has capabilities across both traditional LP-led secondaries and GP-initiated solutions, with the ability to secure off-market, differentiated opportunities.
