The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) has disclosed $400 million of allocations to infrastructure funds managed by Brookfield and Cohen & Steers.
The pension fund has decided to put $200 million each in Brookfield Global Listed Infrastructure and Cohen & Steers Global Listed Infrastructure, according to an investment meeting document.
The Brookfield Global Listed Infrastructure fund typically invests 80 percent of its net assets in publicly traded equity securities of infrastructure companies listed on a domestic or foreign exchange, according to MarketWatch. It normally will maintain exposure to securities of infrastructure companies in the United States and in at least three countries outside the United States. The fund was launched in 2011
