Igneo Infrastructure Partners, a global infrastructure investment manager which manages $23.6 billion worth of assets, has announced that its third European Infrastructure strategy alongside its Global Infrastructure strategy, has entered into a binding agreement to acquire OnStream from Macquarie Specialized and Asset Finance, part of Macquarie Group’s Commodities and Global Markets business.
OnStream is the second-largest smart meter asset provider in the United Kingdom, with an installed portfolio of approximately 7 million smart meters plus a contracted pipeline of 3 million meters. Alongside its core U.K. market, OnStream also operates around 60,000 meters in Germany and has strong expansion plans supported by both existing and new-customer contracts. Smart meters are a critical part of the energy system and OnStream plays a pivotal role in supporting the shift to a net-zero future by providing essential energy infrastructure.
