IFM subsidiary increases ownership in Vienna Airport

Airports Group Europe, an indirect subsidiary of IFM Global Infrastructure Fund (IFM GIF), has acquired additional shares in Vienna Airport, bringing its shareholding to more than 40 percent.

Vienna Airport is a unique entity that consists of one significant primary level airport in the center of Europe and two smaller ones that have no evident connection to it, also located in Europe. Due to its geographical position, Vienna Airport is one of the most important hubs for the growing number of destinations in Europe, according to IFM. It has a dense network of European destinations and services long-haul flights to Africa, North America and Asia, with more than 27 million passengers annually.

Due to the present shareholding and governance situation at the airport, the Austrian Takeover Commission decided that Airports Group Europe is not obliged to launch a mandatory takeover offer for all remaining shares in the company.
