The IFC partners with I Squared Capital to shore up infrastructure in Asia, South America

The International Finance Corp. (IFC) has agreed to invest $75 million equity in I Squared Capital’s ISQ Growth Markets Infrastructure Fund II to support infrastructure projects in Asia and South America.

The ISQ Growth Markets Infrastructure Fund II aims to address infrastructure investment gaps by investing in high-impact projects in countries such as Brazil, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines and Thailand.

The fund will generally focus on the key sectoral themes of digital, energy transition, transportation and logistics, environmental (waste management and sustainable water), and social infrastructure in certain jurisdictions that are not member states of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as well as certain jurisdictions in Asia Pacific Latin America.
