IEA to develop 300MW wind energy project in Nebraska

Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives, an infrastructure construction company, is planning to develop a 300-megawatt new wind energy project in southeast Nebraska, the company announced on Aug. 6.

The wind farm, which is located near Lincoln, Neb., will draw upon power generated from a combination of Vestas V110, Siemens 129 and Siemens 145 turbines. Valued at $98 million, the Milligan 1 Wind Farm in Saline County is expected to power 115,000 homes upon completion.

EDF Renewables North America, anindependent power producer and service provider,will serve as the lead developer on the project.

IEA will be responsible for the engineering and construction of 99 turbines foundations, turbine access roads, MV collection system, wind turbine installation, and the construction of the onsite operations and maintenance building. The company has assembled more than 7,200 wind turbines across North America.

Construction is scheduled to begin in September, with the project reaching full operation by November 2020.
