I Squared to double down on infrastructure investments in the Philippines

I Squared Capital announced it is committing an additional $1 billion to the Philippines, doubling the firm’s investment in the country to $2 billion.

Harsh Agrawal, senior partner at I Squared, said the Philippines has become one of Asia’s most compelling destinations for long-term infrastructure investment.

With a young workforce, rapid urbanization and more than 7,600 islands in need of modern connections, the Philippines presents unique opportunities — from transforming transport networks to strengthening digital infrastructure, the firm stated on LinkedIn.

“Through this commitment, we aim to help drive resilience, sustainability and competitiveness for decades to come.”

In June, the firm acquired a controlling stake in Royale Cold Storage, a cold storage operator in the Philippines. Several months prior, the firm acquired 100 percent of Philippine Coastal Storage & Pipeline Corp., the largest independent import terminal in the Philippin
