I Squared Capital, Enbridge and MPLX to acquire stake in Matterhorn Express Pipeline

I Squared Capital, a global infrastructure investment manager; Enbridge, a multinational pipeline and energy company; and MPLX, a master limited partnership that owns and operates midstream assets, have agreed to acquire a significant equity interest in the Matterhorn Express Pipeline (MXP).

MXP is a newly constructed natural gas pipeline connecting the Permian Basin to key Texas demand centers and U.S. Gulf Coast LNG export terminals. The natural-gas pipeline entered into service in November 2024 and has approximately 2.5 billion cubic feet per day of fully contracted capacity. The system transports natural gas from the Waha area in the Permian Basin with delivery capabilities throughout the greater Houston area.

Through its ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund III, I Squared will acquire approximately 37 percent of Matterhorn InvestCo alongside FIC and WhiteWater Midstream.
