Hyperion Renewables closes on €140m investment from Mirova

Hyperion Renewables, a Portuguese renewable-energy developer, has closed a €140 million ($153 million) investment from Mirova, a French affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers dedicated to sustainable investing.

The investment will be used to accelerate Hyperion’s transition from a developer to an independent power producer. Hyperion said the capital injection will drive the initial deployment of 3.4 gigawatts of its current pipeline, consisting of photovoltaic wind, storage and green hydrogen projects, mainly in Portugal.

Since its founding in 2006, Hyperion has registered a development track record of more than 50 large-scale solar projects totaling more than 640 megawatts that have reached the ready-to-build stage, Of these, more than 370 megawatts are connected to the grid, and 270 megawatts are in Portugal.
