Financial services company Hitachi Capital has provided multi-million-pound funding to Gridserve Sustainable Energy in a new partnership aimed at transforming the United Kingdom’s renewable energy and electric vehicle (EV) charging market.
Hitachi Capital’s loan will be used to fund hybrid solar farms projects in England, as well as Gridserve’s new network of solar-powered EV charging stations known as Electric Forecourts®. These stations will have the capacity to charge 24 vehicles simultaneously in 20 to 30 minutes at a rate of up to 350 kilowatts.
Gridserve is planning to develop a network of more than 100 of these massive charging stations throughout the United Kingdom over the next five years. According to Gridserve, multiple sites are already under development.
