City energy producer Helen and the Bank of Åland’s Wind Power Fund, have acquired the Kalistanneva wind farm in Finland from French independent green-energy operator VALOREM. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The wind farm will include 30 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 165 megawatts, supplying the equivalent of the electricity consumption of 60,000 households each year. Construction will begin in April, with full operations expected to begin in January 2025.
“The acquisition of Kalistanneva wind farm with our partner Bank of Åland’s Wind Power Fund is an important step in Helen’s path towards carbon neutrality and continues our strategy to increase wind power production, which will now be above 1.5 terrawatt hours annually after the Kalistanneva farm starts production,” said Antti Sallila, senior vice president, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, at Helen.
