H.I.G. Capital appoints two to dedicated Infrastructure team

H.I.G. Capital has expanded its dedicated infrastructure team with two new appointments. Antonio Botija will become a managing director in the firm’s London office, and George Watts will become a managing director in New York City.

Botija brings more than 20 years of experience in infrastructure private equity with a focus on the middle market. He has covered a wide range of regions and sectors, including sustainable energy, digital infrastructure, transport and social infrastructure. Prior to joining H.I.G., Botija served as head of origination and investments for infrastructure investments at Columbia Threadneedle. Before that, Botija worked at Hastings Funds Management, Infracapital Partners and UBS Investment Bank.

Watts joins H.I.G. with 20 years of experience in infrastructure private equity and advisory. He brings global experience across the energy and energy transition sectors, as well as in transportation and communications. Prior to joining H.I.G., Watts w
