The £340 million ($467 million) Gresham House British Strategic Investment Fund (BSIF) has invested £10.5 million ($14 million) into Borderlink Broadband, a fixed wireless access and fiber broadband operator headquartered in Scotland.
BSIF, a closed-ended fund with a 12-year time horizon, was established to invest specifically in the infrastructure and housing sectors in the United Kingdom.
The investment will be used to help Borderlink roll out high-speed fiber broadband connectivity across five counties, with the intention to expand across Scotland and Northern England.
“Borderlink’s focus on digital inclusion for all, is aligned with BSIF’s key objectives to invest in businesses capable of making a meaningful economic and social impact,” said Stevie Ingamells, associate director of sustainable infrastructure at Gresham House. “This is a very exciting time for the Borderlink team and we are hugely excited to be a part of their journey.”
