Greenbacker Capital Management, a renewable energy-asset manager, has launched a new Energy Transition Real Estate Strategy focused on the “power play” taking place in energy-transition real estate.
The strategy is being launched by two sustainability-minded Blackstone alums, including David Zackowitz, Greenbacker’s head of real estate investments, and is underpinned by the belief that access to outsized power is undervalued by the real estate community and that powered sites will become increasingly sought after as the energy transition accelerates.
Greenbacker has written recently about the “power play” opportunity that is posed in the energy space at the moment in the field of distributed energy sources (DERs).
“Proximity to strategic grid interconnection is key to facilitating the storage and sale of power, which can provide benefits like additional
