Olympia Odos, a subsidiary of VINCI Concessions, has signed a contract with Greek authorities to extend the Athens Corinth-Patras motorway concession.
VINCI Concessions and its partners will be responsible for the design, financing and construction of a new 75-kilometer (47-mile) section between Patras and Pyrgos, integrated into the existing Olympia Odos concession.
This new section is intended to improve mobility for greater road safety and economic development in the Peloponneseè, and reduce travel time between Patras and Pyrgos. The project is part of the Trans-European Transport Network, a European Union program that aims to facilitate connections and the interoperability of transport infrastructure in Europe.
The financing of the project represents an investment of €331 million ($364 million).
