Grain Management raises $240 million for second infrastructure fund

Sarasota, Fla.–based Grain Management has raised approximately $240 million for its Grain Infrastructure Fund II, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The vehicle's predecessor, Grain Infrastructure Fund, has raised more than $100 million and had a $135 million fundraising goal. Both funds focus on building, acquiring and operating communications infrastructure including voice, video and data networks, and wireless communications towers for government and carrier system deployments.

Grain Managementwas founded in 2006 and oversees investments in wireless communications infrastructure projects throughout North America.The private equity firm leases space on cell phone towers to a variety of government entities and some private enterprises.
