Goodman Group, a global industrial property and digital infrastructure specialist, has unveiled a series of initiatives to advance its data center capacity in Asia.
For one, the company agreed to deliver up to 1,000 megawatts of power in Japan. The new Tsukuba City data center will be located in greater Tokyo. Site preparation and infrastructure work already has begun, with the first data center facility due for completion in 2026. Goodman has entered into an agreement to construct and lease the first 50-megawatt data center at this new campus to an unnamed customer.
Goodman acquired the 45 hectares (111 acres) of land in Tsukuba City from a local government authority in 2022 and since then has successfully worked with power, water, communications and other authorities to unlock the full potential of the location.
