Global Infrastructure Partners closes Australia fund with $2.65b of capital

Global Infrastructure Partners has held a final close for GIP Australia Fund II (GIPA II) after raising aggregated committed capital of A$4 billion ($2.65 billion) at the upper end of its original A$3 billion ($1.99 billion) to A$4 billion ($2.65 billion) target.

GIPA II received commitments from institutional investors across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America. By value, the majority of GIPA II’s commitments are from Australian institutions.

GIPA II is an Australasia-focused open-end fund that invests in opportunities in areas that are underpinned by favorable demographic, economic and regulatory conditions coupled with a rapidly growing demand for private infrastructure investments.
