Global Data Center, an Israeli data center facility provider, has unveiled plans to construct an underground data facility near Tel Aviv, Israel, according to Data Center Dynamics. The project has a value of $30 million.
“The establishment of the new data center, near large high-tech centers of Petah Tikva, offers the best proof of the business momentum that we are currently experiencing,” said Moshe Lasman, founder and CEO of Global Data Center.
Phase one will consist of 64,000 square feet of space, with a capacity of 15 megawatts of power. Global Data Center is planning to double the size of the site later on.
Construction is expected to be completed this year, with commercial operations starting in 2021.
