GLIL Infrastructure (GLIL), the infrastructure investment fund created by pension funds for pension funds, has received an additional £400 million ($546 million) of commitments from its existing investors, Local Pensions Partnership Investments, West Yorkshire Pension Fund, Merseyside Pension Fund and Greater Manchester Pension Fund.
GLIL invests on behalf of pension funds and pools with a U.K.-wide portfolio of assets spanning renewable energy, utilities, ports, logistics, trains, digital infrastructure, hospitals and schools.
The capital will allow GLIL to continue investing in essential U.K. infrastructure. The fund has expanded its digital infrastructure platform by acquiring a majority interest in a hyperscale data center campus in Southeast England from Yondr.
