Gaw Capital Partners strengthens foothold in Japanese data center cluster

Gaw Capital Partners has acquired Fuchu Building, a property located in a well-established data center cluster close to central Tokyo.

The property, located on a 5,479-square-meter (58,975-square-foot) plot of land in Fuchu Intelligent Park, is adjacent to the Meito Sangyo Building, an asset owned by a fund under Gaw Capital’s management. The Meito Sangyo Building has been under construction to redevelop into a carrier-neutral Tier III data center as Phase I. Fuchu Building will be demolished and redeveloped into Phase II of the data center.

The addition of Fuchu Building’s land will double the new data centers to a total land size of 10,969 square meters (118,069 square feet). Concurrently, the IT capacity of the data centers is expected to double to 39 megawatts, with a total power capacity of 50 megawatts, which will make it the largest data center facility in Fuchu City in terms of IT load.
