IREI has learned that Hong Kong–based Fubon Life Insurance has committed $200 million to Stonepeak Infrastructure Fund IV (SIF IV).
SIF IV, the $10 billion infrastructure fund managed by Stonepeak Partners, primarily invests in renewable and gas-fired power generation, utilities, midstream energy, communications, water, and transportation assets.
A number of pension funds have backed the vehicle, which was reportedly in the process of holding a second close on more than $8 billion in capital commitments in early August. Earlier this month, the New York State Common Retirement Fund committed $250 million to the fund.
Fubon Life could not be reached to comment on the investment at the time of publication.
