Foresight has entered into a 50-50 joint partnership with Shell Energy Operations to acquire the development rights of a 370-megawatt renewables project in Western Australia from Lacour Energy and Goldwind International.
The Kondinin Energy Development project comprises various stages of development across wind, solar and battery-energy storage system (BESS) assets. These include a stage one 121-megawatt wind farm; a stage two option for a 114-megawatt wind farm; 125 hectares (296 acres) of land for solar, with up to 80 megawatts of capacity; and up to 60 megawatts/120 megawatt-hours of battery storage The project is close to the existing Western Power 220-kilovolt transmission line, through which it will connect to the grid.
“We believe Kondinin’s location in Western Australia and late-stage development phase means it is strategically placed to support decarbonization of the mining and resources sector, as well as the growing number of commercial and industrial cu
