Foresight Group has held an additional interim close for its sustainability-led energy infrastructure fund, Foresight Energy Infrastructure Partners (FEIP).
The fund, which invests predominately in Europe, has collected €787 million ($933 million) in equity commitments, including €170 million ($201 million) of co-investments. This represents a total capital pool of €957 million ($1.1 billion) for Foresight’s energy transition strategy.
Boosted by €71 million ($84 million) of new commitments from investors since the interim close in June, the maximum fund size permitted has been increased and the fundraising period extended, with a final close expected to take place in September.
FEIP has made four investments to date, two construction greenfield wind assets, an operating wind farm and an energy-from-waste plant. The fund’s investment strategy has been shaped to achieve specific decarbonization objectives in line with the Paris Climate Agreement.
