BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) is seeking to raise €750 million ($792) from institutional investors such as insurers, pensions funds and corporates for its new low-carbon infrastructure fund.
BNP Paribas Low Carbon Transition Infra Equity Fund I, the first vintage of BNPP AM’s low carbon infrastructure equity strategy, is supported by BNP Paribas Group’s anchor commitments of €400 million ($423 million).
The fund aims to build a resilient, diversified portfolio of eight to 12 equity investments through direct minority participation in core-plus and value-added capital-intensive infrastructure projects in the mid-market segment. It will invest exclusively in European countries, supporting energy-transition projects by focusing on clean energy, sustainable mobility and the circular economy, including new sectors such as batteries, hydrogen and carbon capture.
