Facebook has entered into a 139-megawatt, 15-year power purchase agreement with EDP Renewables North America, a subsidiary of EDP Renewable, in Randolph County, Ind.
The $300 million wind energy farm, Headwaters II, will produce enough energy to power about 52,000 homes annually.
EDP Renewables says Facebook will purchase much of that power for its New Albany, Ohio, center.The new wind farm is expected to be operational by 2020.
