Italian investment fund F2i has launched its fifth fund, the Fondo per le Infrastrutture Sostenibili (FIS) and raised €900 million ($1.1 million) in a first closing.
The fund is seeking to raise €1.5 billion ($1.8 billion) in capital commitments and will focus on the traditional infrastructure sectors, as well as new areas such as the energy transition, circular economy, digitization and healthcare facilities. The strategy aims to build a portfolio of companies which can support growth in the Italian economy.
“Infrastructure has a central role to play in the lives of citizens and businesses,” said Renato Ravanelli, CEO of F2i. “The scale and efficiency with which it is managed determines the differentials of competitiveness of Italy’s economy and impacts on the lives of citizens.”
