Everbright Water enters into $30m wastewater P3 agreement

China Everbright Water has signed a public-private partnership (P3) project agreement with the Urban-Rural Water Bureau of Zhangqiu District of Ji'nan, China, for a 213 million yuan ($30 million) wastewater treatment project.

A project company will invest in finance, construct, operate and maintain the project, known as Ji'nan Zhangqiu Waste Water Treatment Plant 4 PPP Project, under a build-operate-transfer model. The project carries a concession period of 30 years.

With the deal, Everbright Water will hold a 99 percent equity interest in the project company.

According to Everbright Water, the project has a designed daily wastewater treatment capacity of 50,000 cubic meters and a designed daily reusable water supply capacity of 30,000 cubic meters. The company’s first three wastewater plants have a total designed daily wastewater treatment capacity of 120,000 cubic meters.
