The European Union has unveiled a new investment package aimed at helping Africa’s green and digital transformation.
According to a fact sheet, the Global Gateway Investment Package will allow for an increase of renewable-energy capacity by at least another 300 gigawatts, as well as a massive deployment of hydrogen.
The initiative will also seek to strengthen African food systems, climate resilience, biodiversity and sustainable energy.
The investment package will be delivered through the European Union, its member states and European financial institutions.
