Progress on the greenfield Eskilstuna Biogas AB (EBAB), a 70 gigawatt-hour biogas plant located outside of the city of Eskilstuna, Sweden, is moving steadily forward.
The Eskilstuna Biogas project has the capacity to process up to 150,000 tons per year of locally sourced agricultural waste and food waste to produce up to 5,400 tons per year of liquefied biogas (LBG), a renewable-energy source. The plant will be one of the largest of its kind in the Nordic region and will supply local municipality services and Destination Gotland with renewable LBG. Construction of the plant is expected to begin immediately.
Equitix, an investor, developer and fund manager of critical infrastructure, has confirmed it is investing in the greenfield project.
