Equitix has completed the acquisition of an additional 17.5 percent stake in the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm in Scotland from The Renewables Infrastructure Group, bringing Equitix’s stake to 35 percent.
Beatrice is one of Scotland’s largest operational offshore wind farms. With 84 turbines, the asset is capable of generating enough energy to power 450,000 homes.
With more than $20 billion of assets under management and more than $100 billion of enterprise value across the firm’s portfolio, Equitix said follow-on investments provide exclusive bilateral opportunities for its funds. The transaction, previously announced in July, marks the fifth follow-on investment completed by Equitix in the past 12 months, representing approximately $1 billion of equity deployed in total.
