EQT has closed its flagship infrastructure fund, EQT Infrastructure VI, at its hard cap of €21.5 billion ($23 billion) in total commitments, exceeding its €20 billion ($22 billion) target.
EQT Infrastructure VI is 35 percent larger than its predecessor fund, EQT Infrastructure V, which closed in 2021 with €15.7 billion ($17 billion) of capital commitments. EQT said the latest fund’s success was due to strong support from both existing and new investors and that commitments from its longstanding clients represented around 70 percent of the fundraise.
The fund’s investor base was composed of a diversified global group of institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, asset managers and insurance companies. The private wealth segment represented an increased share compared with the firm’s predecessor vehicle. Investors were based acros
