ePointZero, a global platform focused on specialized energy infrastructure and a subsidiary of 2PointZero Group, recently announced plans to acquire a 90 percent stake in Azura Power, a pan-African independent power producer. Amaya Capital, Azura Power’s founding partner, will retain the minority 10 percent stake.
Azura Power has more than 750 megawatts of operating capacity and a growth pipeline of more than 1.5 gigawatts, which could more than double the platform’s operational capacity in the coming years. It operates critical power generation assets across Nigeria, Senegal and Mozambique, where it generates around 10 percent of each country’s grid baseload power.
