Dallas-based Energy Spectrum Capital, a venture capital firm focused on energy infrastructure, has closed fundraising for its Energy Spectrum Partners VIII at just under $1 billion.
The firm’s eighth fund, which will invest primarily in midstream assets within the energy industry, raised a total of $969 million from both new and existing limited partners.
Midstream assets in the strategy include oil and natural gas gathering and transportation systems, processing and treating plants, and storage facilities.
A diverse mix of 82 limited partners committed to Fund VIII, including private and public pension funds, insurance companies, university endowments, foundations and family offices, according to Spectrum Capital.
