Ember Infrastructure has completed the final closing of its Ember Infrastructure Fund I with more than $340 million of capital commitments from a diverse group of major institutional investors from the United States, Canada and Europe.
The investor mix included public and private pensions, consultants, asset managers, foundations, insurance companies and family offices.
Ember Infrastructure Fund I will invest in the energy-transition and resource-efficiency sectors. The vehicle has completed three investments to date, including the formation of bioenergy platform ReGenerate Energy; an investment in Caban Systems, an energy-storage and management solutions provider for the telecommunications industry; and an investment in SunShare, a community solar developer.
