Eelpower Energy, backed by Equitix, Aware Super and the National Wealth Fund, has completed its fourth asset acquisition with the purchase of the 50 megawatt/100 megawatt hours Stoneworthy battery energy storage project in Devon from RES. This step is the next in the company’s plan to build a large and distributed portfolio of grid-scale flexible storage assets across Great Britain.
Construction of the Stoneworthy battery energy storage system (BESS), located on land south of the Pyworthy substation in Devon, will commence next year (2027) with commercial operations expected to start in 2028.
