EDPR has sold 80 percent stakes in three wind farms in North America totaling 499 megawatts to Axium Infrastructure for $860 million.
The U.S. projects include the 200-megawatt Meadow Lake 6 facility in Indiana and the 199-megawatt Prairie Queen development in Kansas, which is due online in the first half of 2019.
And the third wind farm, located in Canada, is the 100-megawatt Nation Rise project in Ontario, which is due online in the fourth quarter of this year.
The operation is part of the company’s strategy to divest majority holdings of operating or developing projects, which allows it to recycle capital and create value by reinvesting the profits in additional growth.
