Econergy Renewable Energy, an investor, developer and operator in European renewable-energy projects, has entered into a partnership with Terna Energy and made its foray into the Greek market.
Under the partnership, Econergy will develop and construct a 460-megawatt solar portfolio. Econergy will acquire 49 percent of the share capital of Terna, which owns two companies in Greece that are each in the process of developing 240-megawatts and 220-megawatt solar plants. The two projects, located in the Kilkis region of Greece, will constitute one of the largest solar portfolios in the country.
“We will continue to expand our operations in the Greek market through the establishment of a local team with experience and connections and the development of additional projects,” said Eyal Podhorzer, CEO of Econergy. “We will continue to progress our portfolio in Greece and across other European markets as we look to play a leading role in the continent’s energy transition
