E.on, the German utility company, has plans to build a 100-megawatt solar farm in Texas. The plans come after the company secured a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for half of the project. This will be E.on’s first solar farm project in Texas.
The company signed a 20-year PPA for 50 megawatts of the plant with South Korean energy company SK E&S Co., which has a U.S. liquefied natural gas business based in Texas.
The project is located west of the Pecos River, in Reeves County and is set to begin in 2020.
